One the new blank layer you have just created, change the blending mode to either overlay, color or multiply so that you can see your image below as you paint.
Select the color you would like to paint with by clicking on the color swatch box on the bottom of your tools palette. Then use the color picker to select the color you would like and click OK.
Use the paint brush tool with 60% hardness to begin painting the vivid colors in the area that you would like. Remember to change the size of the brush and zoom in when needed.
When finished painting your first section, create a new blank layer, change the blending mode, choose a new color, and continue painting the next section and so on until the entire image is painted.
You must include at least 7 different colors and the entire image must be painted.
Remember to zoom in when painting along the edges.
If you paint an area and you don't like it, you can easily change it by going to Image>Adjustments>Hue & Saturation and move the Hue slider until you get a color you like.
When you are finished painting the entire image click on your Black&White background layer. Then go to Filter>Filter Gallery, then go to the Artistic tab and choose Poster Edges and click OK. You may adjust the sliders to your liking.
Then save to the Vivid Color folder on the V:/ drive.
